BMDF MISSION STATEMENT

“Enhancing and changing lives through fellowship and healthcare missions throughout the world.”

STATEMENT OF FAITH

WE BELIEVE:

  • In the divine inspiration, integrity, and complete authority of the Bible as the Word of God.
  • In the unique Deity of our Lord Jesus Christ who was and is fully God and fully man.
  • In the substitutionary sacrificial death of Jesus Christ as the necessary atonement for sins.
  • In the presence and power of the Holy Spirit in the work of regeneration.
  • In the resurrection of the just and unjust, the everlasting blessedness of the saved and the everlasting judgment on the lost.
  • In the commandment of Jesus to His followers, “to make disciples of all nations,” to establish New Testament churches, and cooperate with all believers in fulfilling His Great Commission.

BMDF OBJECTIVES:

  1. Strive as individuals and an organization to be instruments in God’s hands to bring persons to faith in Jesus Christ and to physical and spiritual wellness.
  2. Lead members to demonstrate the Lordship of Jesus Christ in their individual lives, homes, local churches, in their practices, and in the world.
  3. Recruit new members who share a sense of call to the mission of BMDF with special attention to reaching students, ethnics, and female healthcare professionals.
  4. Provide medical missions counsel and support to individuals, churches, associations, state conventions, denominational entities, and other Christian organizations, consistent with BMDF’s mission and objectives.
  5. Create linkages and partnerships with the worldwide Baptist community and with other Great Commission Christians to carry out the mission of BMDF.
  6. Communicate completely and passionately the mission of BMDF by the most effective means available to the widest possible audience.
  7. Describe, endorse, promote and evaluate effective, ethical healthcare mission projects both nationally and internationally.
  8. Inspire formation of new Christian healthcare fellowships in other countries while amplifying community with and assistance to existing fellowships.
  9. Provide counseling to healthcare students and foster among them a desire to develop a lifestyle of personal involvement in Christian missions.
  10. Expand international healthcare missions support by increasing the response to requests from the field for spiritual, emotional and physical assistance.
  11. Share the good news of Jesus Christ in North America by providing quality healthcare to those with limited access without regard to their culture, religion, ethnicity, or financial status.
  12. Be intentional in being disciple makers among health professionals and others through local ministries, evangelistic mission projects, and church planting where appropriate.
